When the iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 update came out earlier this year, despite of being a very minor update, it left the SafeRa1n untethered iPhone 5,4S/4 jailbreak useless. It was also useless for all the models below the iPhone 5,4S/4.
iOS 6 was a major update and introduced over 200 new features and also provided the users with a new interface. Since its release there have been a series of fixes and tweaks. The latest update by Apple is the iOS 6.1.4 which is an update to the speaker profile. There have also been a few security improvements. However, as soon as you install this update, you won’t be able to jailbreak your iPhone 5.
Teams of hackers and developers managed to jailbreak/unlock the iOS 6.1.4/6.1.3 but kept their exploits wrapped up. According to a guy from teak SafeRa1n, they didn’t reveal some major bugs and did release an iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak and unlock as it was a very minor update and they had face tough challenges while cracking the iPhone 5. As it is expected that Apple is soon going to release the iOS 7, so the iPhone 5 owners would have to be patient for a while.
